As humans we often think we are indestructible; the spread of humanity seems unstoppable and with modern technology we are reaching higher and higher every day and ultimately we will reach the stars.
However the words of a Kansas song perhaps says more about humanity than our buildings, technologies and world does “All we are is dust in the wind”
Recently I was reminded of the power of Mother Nature. The picture shows how dangerous this amazing lady can be – in a thirty minute period we had gusts of wind up to 60 miles per hour – one of those gusts snapped a perfectly healthy tree in half.
Luckily for me, the tree fell in between my neighbors and my sheds so no major damage was done – also no one was harmed – but I did find a six foot branch embedded seven or eight inches into my lawn – if that had hit me I would not be here writing!
Whether or not man is causing these devastating storms, it’s about time we took responsibility for the world we live in and began to slow down progress to ensure the longevity of our planet.
f we are causing these devastating storms then I wonder what caused them in the age before man. Glad you're okay and weren't standing under that branch.
Now the chicken have come to roost. It's payback time.Mother nature is punishing its children for their wrongs.
so very true indeed, Mother Nature more powerful than you think, please have your ideas in comment.
