Monday Morning

I have been up for hours, but I only just got the mental alertness needed to bubble. Still, I have been busy this morning.
I finally got out my binoculars and took a good, long look at the bush with the white flowers across the way. I couldn't tell what sort of flowers they were with my myopic eyes. I have been wondering about this flowering bush for three years. Now I know that they are large white flowers with four petals that are shaped like pinwheels. Of course, that doesn't help me much. I still don't know what it's called. Anybody know?
I discovered that the 1930 Denmark census is now online so I will be looking for my cousin? Agnes Poulsen and her husband as well as any other remaining members of my grandfather's generation. Who knows? I might find some family members I can contact. That's for later on today.
I made biscuits with cheddar jack cheese melted all over them, all bubbly and brown. Yummy. So good with my coffee.
Finally, someone mentioned sailing to me in a comment on my last post. When I was young, I wanted to sail, I really wanted to sail. But these days, I don't think my sea legs would hold up and I would have to sail the way Bill Murray does in this clip from the hilarious film "What About Bob?"
Today I woke up craving for my favorite, BACON! So I went to our local Deli and treated myself to a very delicious Bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on a hero bread. I also bought a Arizona honey tea to wash it down and took my daily nutritive vitamins! Talk about a good start to the week lol.

Marilyn Monroe Day.. is it?

Its my weekend off and I was planning on going upto see my folks this weekend. Due to petrol costs I have had to postpone, the other half is in work all day so I am chilling with a bunch of Marilyn Monroe films.
Currently Film 4 is showing one of favourite Marilyn films, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. I love the characters that both Marilyn Monroe and Jayne Russell play plus the music score is brilliant.
It features one of MM's most famous scenes singing 'Diamonds are a Girls Bestfriend' in the wonderful pink outfit that Madonna copied in her 'Material Girl' video.
Marilyn has influenced a lot of females of time including Debbie Harry of Blondie and actresses such as Jayne Mansfield, Scarlett Johansson, and the brilliant Michelle Williams who portrayed Marilyn in 'My Week with Marilyn.'
There are plenty of MM films coming on TV this month and I have plenty downloaded to watch. My other favourite is 'Some Like it Hot' the story line is funny and Jack Lemon and Tony Curtis are great actors in their roles.
One thing I quite like about being on the Royal Mail panel, is the envelopes I get to keep. I'm glad I've started up selling online again as they are coming in very handy for me. If I'm careful to peel the jiffy bags open and they don't have any machine markings on the front, I can re-use them. I get sent weekly things I need to post, inside a large grey mailing bag and I am able to re-use this too. I make sure I cut close to the edge to save most of it. I also receive excess white paper (perfect for my weekly To Do lists), extra unused envelopes and blank sticky address labels. I have a big collection sitting on my shelf ready to use when needed.

Happy Saturday!!!

Happy Saturday everyone!! Another weekend is here but I don't have anything planned so it will be a "play it by ear" type of weekend. Sometimes the weekends turn out better when nothing is planned rather than having things that have to be done.
As every other day of the week, I'm starting my day with coffee. A day without coffee would be like a day without sunshine!
Weather wise it's an iffy kind of day. The heat has picked up and it's warmer than it's been all of last week. I had to put the a/c on last night because it was just too hot to sleep otherwise. The sky is blue with a mix of clouds. The sun peeks out and then it looks like rain. Another day of Mother Nature not knowing how she wants to act.
I'm having my usual peanut butter on whole wheat toast for breakfast with an orange. No fancy breakfast for me since I over-indulged in calories yesterday.
That about sums up the big fat nothing that's going on in my neck of the woods today.
How about you? anything planned for the weekend?

It’s a gorgeous day outside. I really would like to go somewhere, but still cannot drive. I will have to wait a little longer for that. The eye doctor said that he wouldn’t be able to write a prescription for glasses until the end of the month. My right eye is still adjusting and adjusting. So, I will have to wait.
I might be able to get some of my seedlings transplanted today though.
I’m still waiting to see how my stomach is going to react to food this morning. I didn’t eat anything yesterday evening because I was afraid of getting sick again. I feel OK this morning, but the day has just begun.
It will be so nice when I can return to a more normal routine. The sheet rock finisher will be back Monday to sand the walls and begin painting. I think I should not be in the house, for fear that the dust he stirs up will get in my recovering eye. He uses drop cloths and cleans up after himself very well. He has done work for us before and he is very tidy about everything he does, but there is still that chance, I guess. So, I may spend the day at my daughter’s house.

Like Cats and Dogs

We have had our new dog, Winnie, for over a week now. She has taken some time to adjust, as I expected, and now she is definitely a member of our family! She is so happy to see us when we walk through the door (even if it is just out of the bathroom door!).Winnie and my cat, Pepper, haven't completely decided what they think of each other yet. However, this morning they are playing like cats and dogs! The cat is chasing the chihuahua all around the living room, and then Winnie turns and takes off after the cat. It's adorable watching them play!.I absolutely love animals! I have always had pets growing up and then when I moved out, I have always made sure to have a few. Currently, I have Pepper the Manx kitten, Winnie the chihuahua, 3 Betta fish, and Charlotte the rose hair tarantula. I have a bit of a zoo going on!Next, I would love to add a miniature piggy to my family! It's my dream pet! They are just so adorable.Well, unless they create a mini giraffe...then I would totally want that.I do believe in a final decision for any situation. Sometime we takes a lots of time only thinking that what is right or what is wrong. And when we don't take decisions on the right time, we have lost something special. My neighborhood was in hospital. She had slipped from stairs and very badly injured on her head. The doctor told to his son to take her in a big hospital, but son not decided what to do. After a day she had gone in coma, her son taken to a big hospital but its too late. That's why I am telling to all to never take too much time to any decision, take decisions on right time otherwise its too late.

What's Going on in My Neighborhood?

I came home and ate my early dinner. Then, I made a cup of tea, for a change. I watched some youtube videos while I sipped my evening tea. Then, I decided to take a break and go to the town center. Although the sun came out around two o’clock, today was kind of cool. I browsed inside Trader Joes, before walking by Peets Coffee Shop and noticing that they have a new flavor, Javiva. It looks like a fun and tall dessert for one’s birthday. It also looks fattening, with all the chocolate and caramel syrup on top of the whipped cream. But it looks good.
I walked by Veggie Grill, and I noticed a poster of a tasty vegan salad.
I walked by the movie theater, and checked out current movies. None looked interesting. But I wonder what the movie, Connection, is about. But the movie posters looked more interesting, especially the animated Japanese film about a young boy and girl as well as a movie about Beach Boys, Brian Wilson. Is he still alive? It is a little after seven, and I decided to drive back home because it is cooling down.
Then, I drove to Michaels to get some yarn in the number 6, super bulky, because I plan to make another infinity scarf for wintertime, finger-less mittens on the Rainbow Loom because I want to make it smaller to fit my hands and wrists, and legwarmers. I decided on wine-colored yarn, denim-colored yarn, and dark green, beige and pumpkin-colored yarn.
I plan to make an infinity yarn in wine color because it is the same color as the aubergine pea coat I have. I also have a matching hat of similar color.
I plan to use the denim-colored yarn to make finger-less mittens.
And, I might use the dark green, beige, and pumpkin-colored yarn to either make a striped infinity-scarf for autumn or striped legwarmers. But I am not sure yet.
While at Michaels, I remembered that there was also a Joann store, across the street, next to Walmart. So, after I made my purchases, I decided to drive across the street, but just browse inside Joann store. I noticed that they had interesting items, too. I also noticed a variety of yarn colors, in which my mouth started to water because I was like a kid inside a candy store, checking out all the colors. I might buy some yarn from Joann’s next time. It was fun to browse. I also noticed different kinds of looms, which includes wooden ones with silver metal pegs.

I Lost a Dear Friend Last Week

So, hello to all my daily visitor's as i have been away from my blog from past 2 weeks that has a terrible happening with me.
Many times when someone in your life dies there is regret that you've not spent much time with them, or not as much as you later wish you had. I lost a dear friend last week. Throughout our friendship we spent more time together than many families do because she worked for us in our business.
Our friendship began when I needed a babysitter and someone from my church recommended her. The person from church lived across the street from her family. That took place around twenty-four or so years ago, when she began babysitting my first-born daughter.
A year or so later I had my second daughter and she continued to babysit them until they started school. She had three children around the same ages as mine, so the kids grew up together. Once our kids were all in school, she needed to continue to make a bit of side money, so we hired her to do the cleaning in the credit union we cleaned on a daily basis. She worked there for quite a few years and when we discontinued working that job, she then began cleaning windows with us. From that time forward, I spent time with her daily.
I thought for sure she would prove them all wrong and live much longer than that, but I misjudged her health situation. She began going down-hill a week ago Friday even though she was able to hang out with family on both the Wednesday and Thursday before. Everyone was surprised when she took a turn for the worse. Her family and those of us close to her spent as much time as possible by her bedside.

Cloudy Morning with coming weekend

Good Friday morning everyone!
As I gaze out the window here I see light rain falling. It is a cloudy start to the day. It doesn't look like it will be an all day rain, but with the grey skies and the sun trying to poke out it is not a very lively start to the day. Hopefully the showers make their way thru the area and the sun is out in the next little while as they are predicting.
I am fighting a bad headache which came on yesterday. I think that it is weather-related as it started near a scar in my head that I have from an operation. We call that the Julia-barometer around here. I can usually call a storm coming a couple of days before it arrives.
Do you have any aches that tip you off to a weather change?
am super excited although i have nothing today over the weekend but guess what i just love idling around the house with lose clothes...it has been a long weekend.First the rains in here, the traffic jam because of the police closing down several roads from the city .but finally tomorrow i get to rest and just have my me time and exercise as well not to forget spend time with my family and my pets plus i shall be able to regain energy for the nest week. So hopefully that will too go a nice weekend while I thinking about to move around the beach too. Soon will be decided by friends and family.

Circle Of Life

We have been really busy the last few months remodeling our house. So when we discovered a bird nest with five tiny eggs it was nice to see something beautiful in the middle of craziness !Imagine the surprise to find this bird nest in our brand new shower! For such a tiny bird she made a pretty good size nest for her little eggs!My daughter was so excited when we showed her the nest! Jaylyn couldn't wait for these new little guest to come out of there little eggs.
Every day for two weeks we would check on the eggs and sometimes out flew the mama bird from her nest ! Which always scared us and we would run behind the wall and ,peep our heads around the corner to check on her.We didn't know if she was going to attack us for looking at her eggs but, we weren't going to stand there and find out either!
Finally after what seemed way longer than two weeks the baby birds were here!! When my daughter got home from school I told her there was a surprise at the other house (the one we are remodeling) Can you imagine the look on my daughter's face and her squealing with excitement! I lifted her up to the shelf when we caught the mama bird gone and,we both we're so happy to see these amazing little birds opening their mouths when they heard our voices! I told my daughter they wouldn't stay very long once they could fly our new little guest would leave. She understood they had to go but looked sad as I told her what was going to happen.
