Many people dream of being popular. They desire the prestigious career and lifestyle and will name drop to impress others, open doors to careers or whatever. Know I have done my fair share of name dropping, and sometimes I really benefited from it.
I named dropped by adding prestigious reference to my resume and landed an amazing Episode career. Another time I dressed in designer clothes, shoes and carried a designer bag , drove my boyfriends luxury car and bragged about my and his career and our wonderful lifestyle and that got me an invite to the junior league.
Yes I was a name dropper, a materialistic and obnoxious one, but it did benefit my lifestyle and my career. Okay that was then and this is now. I am no longer materialistic however I still name drop.
I have no problem telling people that I was the personal assistant to a a local socialite and that I oversaw all holiday party decorations. Know If I want to land a holiday contract all I need to do is name drop the socialite and her winter wonderland home decorations and then mention that I was the designer and ALWAYS get the contract.
I also name drop that I did digital design for a world renowned artist. Hey it gets me hired so name dropping has its benefits.
And also some back links too like being so showed off to all people all around my living and suddenly they all know me well and trying to be with me.
